Media
Domination and Arrows of Honeyed Speech
By Ibrahim Sabti
It seems that Media violence industry,
practiced by some satellite channels that are oriented against the
change which is going on in Iraq after the fall of the dreadful statue
in 2003, is springing from some bases of change according to the
political map and the rise of the daily event mode.
These bases cannot
withstand any confrontation unless a watertight plan is designed for how
to attack any important achievement that might appear in the horizon
that media domination can only be achieved by those who knew media
fabrication, influence and tricks.
Domination, therefore, in its common
sense, needs some justification to be marketed to the public opinion,
which is difficult to penetrate.
This is attributed to the series of
events and experiences that stormed the country during four decades of
mass-mobilization, subsequent wars, economic blockade and agonies.
The
Iraqi individual, as a result, used to analyze news or event before
being marketed by the horrifying machine.
Noam Chomsky, in his book (Media
Domination: Propaganda Amazing Achievements), says that "the
efficiency of mass media and their extraordinary ability to create
acceptance do not appear when they are committed to a minimum level of
ethics in presenting facts and defending them, because the right, in
itself, is a power capable of persuasion.
However, this efficiency
appears in the way it succeeds in drawing people's attention away from
the essence of the problems, obliterating facts, fabricating
alternatives and beautifying them in people's eyes so as to change their
convictions concerning them".
In line with this concept, the
supercilious and interacting media with events escalate their affected
speech directed to people of different levels.
These media channels have
even made their followers of the different cultural levels gradually
move to a lower level than expected.
This is the basis of the
controversial project of the domination media which is practiced by some
nets, agencies, organizations and satellite channels.
One
should admit that the essence of this roar is that the experience of the
nations, in altering their lifestyle and freeing themselves from the
tyrant observer, can not develop or succeed unless these lobbies stand
against them, prevent them and keep them away from interaction with the
people.
In Chomsky's analysis of media
domination, one can find that the media address pays no attention to
ethics in its thoughts, rather to implant doubts about many convictions
and issues, leading the involvement in fabricated crises and the issues
pertaining to people's life where media are aware of how to affect their
feelings.
Consequently, mass media achieved the aim of the domination
under a worn-out and difficult situation forgetting that this thought
has been timeworn and it has vanished from people's minds after the
black decades, which destroyed the taste as the cultivated, the learned
and the competent, who have realized their danger, left in mass
emigration following a systematic and intentional destruction of the
state's institutions.
This destruction resulted from tyranny
that dominated the whole country.
The Iraqi individual tolerated some
sort of domination, that he cannot forget and that which does not exist
in his life activities.
Thus, no mass medium could dominate people's
minds and withdraw or weaken the recognition, consciousness,
understanding, reasoning and induction of the inner thoughts, which
these mass media and nets have not considered.
After a series of field
experiments of intentional broadcast, some of the satellite channels
sought to consider the Iraqi people as their share that they adhere to
after 2003; and that no other means could compete with them over this
costly gain.
The channels mobilized a cadre capable of running the
frightening campaign against Iraqis who got rid of the dark conditions.
Thus strikes became stronger, wounds came successive and the arrows of
the bloody honeyed speech fell in heaps to spread some sort of terror.
These satellite channels make use of all the modern means in leading the
fevered campaign so as to bring death to selves and to reinforce one
fact only; despair and asking God's mercy upon what was then! This is
what these destructive channel seek to achieve
The media war has got inflamed, arrows have become tensed, the
analyst army have invaded all the satellite channel corners and
beautiful ladies grouped in a queue to read news bulletins until
morning.
People involved in destroying Iraq have received spiritual and
financial gifts which came from every gentleman who is zealous for
Arabism and their springboards are in Iraq's soil. The zealous gentlemen
have regarded what happened as a loss of dignity and death of the dear
country!
The Iraqi land has
witnessed the largest media campaigns led by Arab and non-Arab
institutions which support domination over the Iraqi space after the
bomb cars frightened, killed and deformed an unlimited number of Iraqis.
So it is natural for these horrific scenes to be preceded by more
violent ones made by blood brothers who have the same history and
destiny.
This is the war that has been waged against children and old
men at the same time.
Then it is war but of a totally different meaning,
i.e., the war of the bombed media which is seeking to destroy the Iraqi
structures as taste and as a country in all its dignity.
Iraq, then, is an
interesting conflict field for their analyses to develop their abilities
and studies and a factory for their chicks.
Their selves cannot have
mercy upon the country and its people; it is a war that they have firmly
seized and to which they have raised their swords.
What type of power
that seeks to have dominance over houses, streets and cafes? All hope
and eagerly wait for relief (brought by an item of news or a commentary)
towards amusing views after the regime's dreadful fall.
Which type of
people that have not yet until now celebrated the removal of the tyrant
as years pass one by one? That the anniversary becomes far and routine
which is never mentioned except in children's books after scores of
years.
This terror, that
accompanies the modern media in a modern way and an intended
destruction in order to remove the Iraqi joys and replace them by bombs
and explosive devices, is the type pf media that gets delighted by
our horror and becomes distressed by our children's laughter.
