Al-Hakeem Meets Syrian Ambassador to Iraq

Badrtimes - His eminence Sayed Al-Hakeem, on Monday morning 17/11/2008 received  Mr. Nawaf Al-Faris, Syrian Arab Republic Ambassador to Iraq, in the office of his eminence Sayed Al- Hakim, Head  of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council and Leader of the United Iraqi Alliance bloc.

During the meeting, the fraternal relations between Iraq and Syria and ways to consolidate them to achieve the best interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples have been discussed.

 His eminence Sayed Ammar Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of expanding and strengthening the horizons of cooperation in various fields, stressing Iraq's openness to Arab countries   to build a sophisticated relationship network based on mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs, noting in this respect that Iraq does not   allow the of its territory as a springboard for attacks on neighboring countries.

The Syrian ambassador, meanwhile, stressed the depth of the relations between the two countries and his country's desire to contribute to the stability of Iraq and help the Iraqi people in the process of construction and reconstruction.
